Are you relatively new to sewing? Do you want to expand on your knowledge and learn dressmaking techniques?
Our Beginners Dressmaking class covers the basics involved in dressmaking. How to work with a pattern, read the information and choose the correct size. How to cut out and prepare fabric, sew seams and gradually work to introduce complex finishing techniques. Over the course of 9 hours, the class will teach you the skills required to continue sewing and creating new garments at home.
In the Beginners Dressmaking class we recommend you work with a skirt pattern (McCall’s 3830), however we are flexible to your learning requirements. Depending on the project you choose you will learn extra techniques such as how to apply a waistband, how to introduce an invisible zipper, sew buttons and fastenings to create a beautiful garment you can be proud of.
