Join us for the Shirt Making class and learn the construction of a ladies or mens shirt. The shirt can be completed to your individual requirements; sewn in a woven fabric or silk for an added challenge. Learn how to sew flat felled seams, the importance of interfacing a garment (types of interfacing to be used and when) as well as professional methods for sewing a front button placket, sleeve placket and attaching a collar and collar band.

Level: It is necessary to have previous sewing experience working with garments, you should be able to sew accurately. We recommending attending the Dressmaking class should you need to brush up on these skills.
Material: Please provide your choice of sewing pattern, material (woven or silk fabric, do not choose patterns that require matching), as well as coordinating thread, buttons and interfacing. Please feel free to contact us with any questions regarding your pattern choice. The amount of garment completed during the class will depend on the pattern you choose and it’s complexity.
Please inform us in advance if you wish to use one of our sewing machines during the class.
