Thank you Aneka I have learned Invaluable Sewing Techniques on your Tailoring course in November. This is the second course I have been on. The quality of my projects have improved. You are a professional in every sense.

The only problem is Somerset is very far from where I live, although it was worth the long distance.

Aneka easily deserves 5 stars, perhaps even 6! With her help I have constructed the most professional garment I have ever made, with help and advice at every stage to finish the jacket to a high standard.

This is an extremely full on course. Aneka imparts so much knowledge and expertise – you can’t help to come away with improved sewing skills. I am so pleased with my jacket, the fit is perfect and it is the first garment I have made that has not got any home-made ‘tells’. I thoroughly recommend it – but be prepared for homework!

A fantastic course that was truly tailor made to each of the participants. A great balance of getting to grips with your own project while additionally learning different techniques from the other projects undertaken by the rest of the group. Highly recommended.

Another wonderful class with Aneka and I can’t wait to be enrolled on the next one. Aneka is a wonderful teacher, extremely knowledgeable and very generous with her time and knowledge. I’m so pleased with my jacket and can’t wait to wear it.

Aneka was very knowledgable also a great instructor. She was very friendly, patient and gave clear instructions. The class size was small, this worked really well. I certainly learned a lot. There is nothing as good as a tailored jacket.

Overall she gave me a good understanding of Tailoring which will help me when making future projects.

    (verified owner):

I did enjoy Aneka’s tailoring course. I chose to use traditional methods as I wanted to know what goes into the construction of a bespoke jacket. Aneka took me through step by step and the result is a jacket to be proud of that actually fits. My sewing skills were rather rusty after 20 years away from my needle, but she was very patient with me, allowing me to work at my own pace. Her knowledge of design and construction is unparallelled. A thoroughly satisfactory week. Onwards to trousers now!

I very much enjoyed this course. We worked at our own pace, and Aneka always noticed when we needed help or advice. Under her expert guidance, the fit (and pattern) of my jacket was much improved, and I learnt a range of new-to-me traditional tailoring techniques (my choice – there is a great deal of flexibility over the content of the course to suit the participants). Aneka was a generous teacher, including sharing ideas about sourcing specialist fabrics and haberdashery. Her own clothes and projects as well as the results achieved by her pupils give inspiration and show her competence.

I look forward to attending more courses.

What another amazing course taught by a very talented young lady ! Aneka persuaded me to spend a little more on my fabric choice ( a gorgeous bright pink Harris Tweed) and with her expert tuition and guidance I have made a beautiful jacket. I no longer have to put up with jackets that are too long for my arms, I now have a pattern that truly ‘fits like a glove’.

Can’t wait to start the Chanel jacket next year.

    Thank you so much Aneka.

What a brilliant course. I have learnt so many new skills and I have a beautiful coat that actually fits!
Aneka is a fabulous teacher, who has endless patience.
With only four people on the course there is plenty of opportunity for 1-2-1 attention, so you come away with a coat tailored to you own individual reuirementa, using a variety of tailoring techniques.
You will never look at a coat in the same way!!

Five star review – Lovely course and only 4 in the class which was great so that you got individual tuition. Aneka is so patient and I must admit the pattern drafting was something I hadn’t expected but we got there in the end. I have a lovely jacket that I am very proud of and the inside looks as nice as the outside which is a miracle. If you would like to make a jacket which you can take away and wear and know it will fit you with all those individual querks we all have then this is the course for you. Thoroughly recommended.

I contacted Aneka saying that I had skills that I had learnt 20 years ago and that none of the classes she was offering fitted into my busy life. She responded swiftly offering one to one lessons with flexibility and discussed how we would start. I felt that what she was offering me was bespoke. I arrived with a toile of the pattern I wished to create and fabrics to choose from. She is supportive, un patronising, genuine and full of tips and ideas. Even though I did the work, WE created a beautiful jacket. Thank you Aneka it has been a wonderful journey and one I didn’t want to end. I feel my skills are refreshed and my confidence in tailoring has really grown.

I have had a wonderful time constructing my jacket on the Beginners’ Tailoring Course. Tailoring is something I have always wanted to learn and thanks to Aneka’s great teaching skills and infinite patience I have achieved my ambition. I am hoping to put my new found skills to use on future Made to Sew courses and can thoroughly recommend this course to anyone keen on furthering their sewing knowledge.

I thoroughly enjoyed the beginners tailoring class. So looked forward to Tuesday evenings, relaxing and spending time with people who love to sew. It was like a small oasis of calm in an otherwise manic life. Very pleased with my jacket and fully intend to make another using my new skills and a pattern that will fit! Thanks Anneka.

I thoroughly enjoyed making my jacket as Aneka was so patient and helpful. She is a wonderful teacher.
Now it’s finished I have hardly ever taken the jacket off as it is so comfortable and fits so well
I am thinking i will make another by myself using Aneka’s instruction booklet and because of her help i feel sure i have the skills make it front to front or with a zipped front.

I came across made to sew quite by accident, and how glad I have. I had spent the previous year doing a beginners sewing class and can quite honestly say I was not in love with sewing.
Aneka used her charm and persuaded me to come along and join the beginners tailoring course….before I could change my mind it was booked.
Aneka is so patient, explains everything clearly and makes sure you understand the processes fully. I couldn’t wait for Thursday evenings to see what new skills I would learn next and it was so exciting to see my jacket take shape. Whenever I wear my jacket I still can’t believe that I made it. I can’t recommend this course highly enough. If I can do it so can you.

As an experienced self taught sewer along with my friend Jean I have attended the advanced tailoring course and also a one to one with Aneka.
I have learned a lot of things such as the different types of seams used including French seams and also how to do the seams for jeans which I fully intend to put to good use. My favourite thing is a concealed zip which I have already used to great effect on a dress that I have made. The tailoring course has been very exciting and I look forward to wearing my made to measure Jacket in a few weeks time. I didn’t realise that there was so much to learn about linings and how to make a bound buttonhole. I have done some of these things in the past but it is good to learn how to do it properly.
    Thanks Aneka

Thank you Aneka for the class I attended which was advanced tailoring, although I have been sewing for more years than I would like to admit to I really enjoyed the experience of leaning to a high standard.
As my grandmother said to me many times ‘Jean you are never too old to lean something new’ she was so right as I leant so much and every week there was something new and I have gone home and nearly finished my second Jacket the right way so getting a jacket that fits me so well.
I would recommend anyone who has been sewing a while to go to this class.
    Thank you again Aneka

After 10 years of not sewing this class was a fantastic re-introduction. But not for the faint hearted. It is definitely necessary to have previous sewing experience. I had attended a speed tailoring class about 20 years ago so it helped to have some familiarity with the ideas but Aneka provides very detailed notes and tuition. Allow time for homework!

My Jacket has been completed to a much higher standard than any of my previous work. Great.
